What is it going to take to stop the prejudice and alarming rate of arrests
against minorities for low amounts of marijuana? Why do we as a country
have to destroy people's lives for smoking or possessing small levels of a
drug that is truly harmless?

It cost at least $200 a day to incarcerate a person held in jail. And we are
policing people with small levels of marijuana and throwing them in jail. Not
only do they go to jail, but this affects their lives in many other ways. They
have a record that hinders them from jobs and housing for this arrest.
The real problem is the police are only targeting Blacks and Latinos. Not the
rich or the white people just the people that don't have anything. Why do
we need to harass these people anymore? What is the purpose of these
actions? What joy do these police officers and laws do????
